Welcome our new Managing Director, Doug Snell, who commenced with us on Monday April 22nd. With his proven track record, Doug brings a wealth of experience to lead Auswide Bank.
“After my first month in the chair at Auswide, I have been excited to see and hear the desire and drive of our people to provide the best customer service possible.
This encourages me to make sure we have the right systems and processes to help them provide our customers with a high level of service, connecting with them in a more personal way, whether this be directly through our branches, phone calls or through our partners.” Mr Snell said.
Doug’s financial services career spans 35 years, including his most recent role of Chief Executive Officer of StockCo, a livestock-specialist finance provider. During his time at StockCo, Doug was instrumental in reinvigorating the business strategy, with a focus on increasing profitability, while improving business process and operations.
Doug has also held senior positions at Bank of Queensland, and during his time, Doug played a key role in delivering major digital transformation projects including a Financial Markets Digital platform and New Payments Platform (NPP). While at Commonwealth Bank he held the roles of General Manager for Regional and Agribusiness (QLD and NT), as well as Head of Global Markets Queensland, Singapore and Hong Kong.
“After 30 odd years working across large banks, mid-tier banks and challenger financiers, it’s great to be able to bring some of my previous learnings to Auswide Bank where we aim to put the customers at the centre of everything we do. It may sound like a tag line, but it’s what we do, and our goal is to prove it.” Mr Snell said.
