Did you know nearly half of Australia's elite athletes struggle financially on their quest to become the best in their sport? According to the Australian Sports Foundation, these athletes spend more on travel and accommodation than food annually, highlighting an immense financial strain on pursuing their dreams to represent Australia.
At Auswide Bank we’re passionately dedicated to empowering grass-root initiatives, championing our local communities and nurturing the next generation of sporting superstars. We're proud and excited to announce our new partnership with Project32 and through them, supporting future sporting superstar, Meg Harris, as she follows her Olympic dream.
Through Project32, an athlete and partnership development program, we’ll be sponsoring freestyle swimmer, Meg Harris, who made her debut at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo where she won gold in the Women’s 4 x 100m freestyle relay – even beating the world record time.
Our sponsorship of Meg will give her the essential financial support she needs to focus on her sporting career and athletic development as she chases her goal of competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
We’ll also be supporting Meg through professional mentorship and coaching as she continues her business and marketing degree, preparing for a career after swimming.
